Andrea always had a drive for finding nuggets in a story. It's a habit that may have stemmed from her upbringing in Elmhurst, New York, where she occasionally sat on the brick-colored fire escape of her 5th-floor apartment observing the people below. Each had a story to tell.

She moved to California in 1989 and was warmly welcomed by the Loma Prieta Earthquake months later. Andrea pursued her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from California State University, Sacramento, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and went on to write award-winning stories at the Daily Republic about the people and events of Solano and Yolo counties.

After five years in the newspaper business, Andrea transitioned to public relations and is now Director of External Relations at Touro University California. She continues to write professionally and on occasion will post to her tumblr.
